Patch 0.1.3 – r318

This patch continues fixing issues found in the latest release. The major framedrop in the Emberstone outpost is fixed aswell as characters rendering issues, few monsters spawning and wobbling party member healthbar.
The game and its launcher are now also signed by the studio, making it less likely for Windows to display a security alert during installation.

Fixed issues :

  • There’s a specific issue in Emberstone outpost that is reducing framerate only in this place.
  • Water doesn’t receive indirect lighting, making it black or almost invisible when not lit directly. – It is now better but still needs to be improved.
  • After the very first loading, players are sometimes spawned under the map and quickly teleported back to the entrance of it.
  • Following several changes in our rendering systems, enabling Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR doesn’t improve the framerate and barely improve the aliasing.
  • The game and launcher executable files are now properly signed by Farworld Studio SAS. It should greatly reduce the risk of a Windows security warning being displayed when you install the game. If you see such a warning and the editor displayed in this warning is not Farworld Studio SAS, you should NOT install it and contact us as at https://support.farworld-studio.net/.
  • There’s a severe performance issue when standing near large visual effects such as mist near waterfalls.
  • Colliders on gatherable plants that incorrectly blocked tools.
  • Visuals of all reflective materials are using a dark color as reflection instead of environment.
  • Health/Energy bars of party members are now back near the character name instead of wobbling around. An updated, optional, party UI will be added in an upcoming patch. It will notably make it easier for healers to keep an eye on other players status.
  • Using the “Sell all useless items” feature at vendors only credit the money of the last item sold. What a bunch of thieves! This issue is fixed but sadly, we weren’t able to get the lost money back.
  • Fixed a possible cause of player character model not loading properly.
  • During character creation, changing sliders doesn’t update the character.
  • When approaching borders of a map tile (maps are splitted into 1km² sub parts), a big framedrop can occur.
  • On rare occasion, world items are not loaded properly in the whole instance and not displayed.
  • On rare occasion, the inverse kinematic on your own character doesn’t load properly.
  • Fixed a source of load equipment appearance failure on other players characters.
  • The Earth Elemental mini boss is back in the starting area of the Howling Valley.
  • A framerate drop occur for a second when loading human NPCs for the first time

Improvements :

  • Improved visual quality of water.
  • Ajusted few corners of the Howling Valley starting area, to prepare opening of additional parts of the map.
  • Improved how map sections are loading when the map is very large (like the Howling Valley). This should results in lower memory usage and might slightly improves framerate on lower end PCs.
  • If another player’s character fails to be rendered properly, the game will keep using the default model after few retries instead of trying indefinitely to regenerate it (and badly affect performance).
  • Adjusted the ground quality loading distance to make it less visible when the amount of polygon changes.
